3rd Grade Math
Third grade TAG math students receive math instruction in the TAG classroom daily from 10:00-11:00am. The math curriculum is accelerated and enriched with a heavy emphasis on problem-solving. Mentoring Mathematical Minds, a research based mathematics program written for gifted students, is our primary resource and enVision is used as a support resource. Students are provided challenging, engaging, hands-on math lessons in the classroom that create an enthusiasm for learning. The lessons are designed to provide relevance and a real world connection that will encourage a passion for mathematics. Students work independently, with partners, and in cooperative groups for concept development and project based learning experiences that offer complexity and depth of meaning.
